1 1/16 Mile – Turf – DMR

For Fillies and Mares Three Years Old and Upward

August 13, 2022

Charlotte de Shark looks like the one to beat in this short field. She won the Wilshire (G2) in May, making her the only graded winner in the field. Her main competition may come from Shes One Of A Kind who has been knocking at the door in graded company in her last three starts.

 Here’s the field:

 #1 Charlotte de Shark
Owner: Aarons Hosses

Won the Grade 2 Wilshire at SA in May, but hasn’t been able to make it to the winner’s circle in her last two starts. She should benefit from the shorter field and could get that second graded win here.

#2 Shes One Of A Kind
Owner: Maxmillion Farm

Finished third in her last three tries in graded company. SRF numbers are strong, and her works are solid. Still may come up a little short when all is said and done.

#3 Gummy
Owner: High Voltage

Won the License Fee at BEL three starts back, but another one having some trouble getting to the winner’s circle in graded company. Likes to run on the lead. We’ll see if she can stay there.

#4 Adrift At Sea
Owner: Threshold

Making her graded stakes debut here and switching from dirt to turf. A lot to ask. May not be up to the challenge.
