Imply Stakes – $200.000
PRX – Fillies Two Year Old Foaled in PA
6 1/2 Furlongs – Dirt
September 24, 2022
Six will go to post Saturday in the inaugural Imply Stakes and none of them have a better chance to bring home the win than Chrystal Cave (Maletto). With a stakes win to her credit, she looks like the one to beat. Clutterbuck (Blazin D) is a mystery, having never started on dirt. Power Ache (Power Racing) has run on dirt, but her two wins were on turf. Another mystery. Dragon Ginger (First Flight Stable) has a maiden win at MNR to her credit, but this is a big step up for her. Metaverse (Angelos Stable) is the other entrant with stakes experience. She finished third of four that day but only by two lengths.
Here’s the field:
#1 Clutterbuck (Blazin D) Broke her maiden last out in state-bred company at PEN on turf. Both of her career races have been on that surface. Working well on dirt. Will see if it translates to race day.
#2 Power Ache (Power Racing) Impressive string of four races for this filly. Never out of the money in all four. Last two were wins, a maiden claimer which she won by five lengths and a $50.000 claimer. Both wins were on turf, but her first two races were on dirt so we know she can get money on dirt.
#3 Dragon Ginger (First Flight Stable) Broke her maiden at MNR first out. Followed that up with a third-place finish in a $127.000 N1X at CD. Didn’t fare as well last out, finishing ninth of ten at the same level. Big step up for this one.
#4 Metaverse (Angelos Stable) Tried state-bred stakes company last out and came in third of four on an off track. Working well and may be ready to make the step up this time.
#5 Crystal Cave (Maletto) Only entrant with a stakes won. That came last out in the $100.000 Miss Blue Tye Dye Stakes. Never out of the money in four starts. The one to beat.
#6 Yas Queen (Arindel) Took this girl five tries to break her maiden. Won maiden special weight contest last out at PEN. Will need a big effort to compete here.
