It’s Party Time at Max’s After a Gritty Win in FT Futurity

FT Futurity
5 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $100.00 Open 2 Year Olds.

1st Max Party La Canada Racehorses Gutierrez Mario

Going off at ten to one, I was surprised at the odds but that may be down to either the draw or the fact that I tipped him. Either way Max Party didn’t know the weight of his burden and denied the draw monster again with a tenacious victory. Going to the front by design, running style, draw or just chance he never got clear but battled all the way and in the end held his advantage all the way home. With the outside being the new inside this wasn’t a complete surprise to me, and I really feel this youngster can take his form all the way to the BC.

2nd Burner Phone Riggins Racing Maldonado E

Ran much better than he did in the KY Juvenile after being ridden with a bit more restraint early on and he was certainly taking ground in the final furlong which will encourage his trainer to have a tilt at some of the bigger juvenile prizes as they step over more ground.

3rd Space Pirate Allinthegate Vazquez R A

He started badly putting him in tenth at the first call but made up plenty to end up third. Clearly a future in store, but he will have to improve his starts if he is going to win at this level.

4th Plumbus TwinTowersRacing Bravo J

Kept on pretty well for fourth in a promising effort.
