The closers keep things hot as Albaquirky, owned by Santan Stables, got off a bit slow, but they don’t hand out checks at the starting gate… the gelding closed like a freight train to take the Woodford (GII), just as he did in the Shaker (GII) back in the spring… talk about horses for courses!  The final margin was a quarter length and he stopped the timer at 1:01.99.  Drinkin Creepin traded the lead throughout, but ended on the runner-up side of the street,  three-quarters of a length in front of Cherokee Raj.  It was a nose back to Insist On A Change in fourth.  Twelve went to the gate, and six lengths covered the entire group.
