First, I apologize that this is formatted like junk… junk in, junk out. Now, on to The Dust Commander… seems like the right name for this track, and no, it wasn’t named after the cloud of smoke when they go into the clubhouse turn. Talk about wide open, someone shut the door, ’cause this one could go any number of ways. Mr Frost set the track record for a mile over this track, last out… a couple didn’t win at all last year… I mean, it’s just go with what you like, I guess. I’ll take All Take as the top selection… and he’s one of the ones that didn’t win a race in ’23. He closed out the season with a runner-up effort in the Harlan (GIII) at GP, and may be ready to show some of the success he had earlier in his career, like when he won the ’22 PRK (GI). America First is another that went 0-for-’23, but was second in the Lure at SAR and the River City Hcp (GIII) at CD, both of those on the grass. He has some big wins on the main track, like the TX Derby, so let’s see if he finds some old magic, as well.
