The only shocking thing about this race was the odds that the odds monkeys assigned to this lightly raced gelding. Odds aside, I was surprised how far back he went early on and that was either the effect of his first run on grass or a brilliant tactical decision by the trainer. Whichever it was, he flew late to catch the leader by a head inside the final furlong and looks an interesting staying prospect after his very good turf work 12 days ago. One to keep an eye on going forward.

2nd Whiskey Law Invicta Group Llc Camacho Sa

Following a similar course to the winner, he too came from off the speed with a strong late run but came off on the wrong side of the photo finish. It seems the new owner has found the key to unlock this one’s form and bring him back to somewhere near his juvenile form. The next race will be interesting for him.

3rd Chimaev Rheingold Stables Castillo I

It was a three way go for the closers and this one ended up third with a career best run. The colt is certainly improving and a race like this looks in his scope now.

4th Thats It N Thats All TwinTowersRacing Gonzalez J L

Went to the front using the wide gate speed push and was going well until they hit the stretch. As often happens with these front runners he hit the wall with a furlong to run and was run down into fourth by the closers. A fair effort but I do think his future may end up being in the sprinting ranks.
