A $100.000 stakes race and 4 runners, it is sad sight but may be more of a reflection on the amount of three-year-old female sprinters than anything else. You wouldn’t expect to give a BTP one-win allowance winner much of a chance in a race like this but this purchase from Smokey Stover is working pretty well and has a decent record at overnight level. So, she comes here with a chance as only one other runner has any worthwhile form and the draw may help her hold a close enough early position to launch late.

2 Underlined Asgar – Scratch – 123 —

3 City Watch 5 A Racing Marin S 123 —

Still a maiden after 4 attempts, she may be looking for minor money here but if ever there was a race like this to risk her in it is this one. Her entry may have been made to ensure the race goes ahead however as her stable mate looks a better prospect.

4 Angel Goblin 5 A Racing Sutherland C 123 —

Only beaten a length into sixth in the Bolton Landing last year, so has some quality about her and ran well enough in a PIM optional claimer last time to give her a chance.

5 We Lost In Music Alydar Stables Castillo I 123 —

Looks the one on exposed form in a pretty weak affair. A grade three winner in the Durante as a juvenile, she has been close-up in 4 decent stakes races this year and won a competitive allowance at FG in March, so her form is head and shoulders above the rest.

SUMMARY

If this were real life We Lost In Music would barely get out of a canter and win by ten but as this is HRP I would expect a length or so to be the margin and whether she canters or is in a flat-out gallop, we will never know. If ever there was a horse to put your house on to win at HRP it is this one. Second and third will be fought out by Angel Goblin and Half Moon with the works suggesting Half Moon will take that place.
