1 Mile Inner Turf Stake Purse $135.000 Filly & Mare 4 Year Olds And Up.
1st Peacestone Hunterman Stable Velazquez J R
After cashing a check in her last 5 graded stakes races this four-year-old filly gained compensation for her consistency here with a strong and decisive win. Traveling off the early pace she made late ground and eventually pulled a length clear. There looks to be a bright future ahead for this daughter of Hagstone that was bred by the trainer because as a four-year-old she can be expected to improve the longer the season progresses.

Drawn the car park and with the outside speed push this one was always the likely leader. She had set up a decent advantage by halfway but once again found the longer trip beyond her grasp in the stretch and gave way to the closer. Another home bred four-year-old she has some good form throughout her career and looks to improve into the second half of the year.

Stayed on nicely for third but could never get in a blow on the front two. The extra weight was always going to be a stopper and sure enough the 2Lbs blunted both her start and her finish sufficiently to keep her in third. A good effort after carrying the penalty last time to victory.
4th= Rainy Bronze Party Establo Pichon Franco M
An expensive auction purchase, she was always going to be rusty after a 6 month layoff. This was a solid enough effort to say she can repay the purchase price in the future.
4th= Baby Katherine Santan Stables Luzzi L J
She was stone cold last for a long way, and one has to question an AI that is meant to give them a chance of winning as she never had a chance. Her running style continues to be her biggest hurdle.
