Starting Over from TwinTowersRacing is a hard knocking eight-year-old race mare who just won’t stop. Runner up in both the 2024 and 2025 BC Distaff, she was not going to be denied today with a thrilling stretch drive. Congrats to the connections on a job well done and on a fantastic race mare. Devil In High Heels from The Sidley Stud made excellent use of her rail draw and saved all the ground today, leaving her plenty in the tank at crunch time. She fought gamely and just got up for second. Spring Street from High Voltage made a big move turning in and looked like a winner, only to be out gunned by two other rivals. Game effort in defeat this afternoon. El Grande Latte from Black N Gold Stable is a closer deluxe and made a huge move again here today to come up with a fourth-place finish. Solid effort for the four-year-old star, sporting a six for twelve lifetime mark.

Of the rest;

Happy Dancer from Nakamura Stables gunned hard for the lead and held sway for about three-quarters before tiering to finish a decent fifth place.

Jawaher from DJC Racing was wide most of the way but kept trying to finish sixth.

Soliloquy Sunset also from Nakamura Stables sat what I thought was a good trip but then lost some punch and backed out of it turning into the drive.

Menacing Shadow from La Canada Racehorses sat with the back markers most of the way and then was only able to close a touch of ground late against tiring rivals.

Wasted Away from Mb Stables pressed the pace the whole way before backing out of it to dead heat with Menacing Shadow for eighth place.

Present Tense also from Mb Stables was the heavy favorite and unfortunately burned a ton of money today. Never looked especially comfortable from her wide gate, she was never able to mount any kind of a rally. Watch the works and see what gate she draws in her next assignment. A tough day for the 2025 BC Distaff winner and her backers.

Boardwalk Authority from Winning Link Stables was always within striking distance today off a good trip but found the competition too tough today and backed out of it to run eleventh.

Be Exceptional also from TwinTowersRacing got herself worked up in the post parade and was unable to deal with the speed brigade in front of her today.
