Changes Work for Record Machine in Big Win for Acber Farm.

Battaglia Memorial Stakes

1/16th on Dirt Purse $175.000 For Three Year Olds

Turfway Park, Florence KY

Record Machine from Acber Farm broke alertly today and tracked the leader the whole way before going by late to claim the win. First race after the biggest equipment change in horseracing and it paid big dividends. Congrats to the connections on the big win. Mayor Of Win City from Mo Mentum Farm was our top pick and went to post as an incredible overlay at over forty to one odds. “City” dropped far back early and then came home with a rush to just miss by half a length in a really nice run. Terrible Tudor from Mb Stables lead every step of the way until inside the sixteenth pole. Solid effort for a horse trying to make every pole a winning one. Royal Confidant from La Canada Racehorses put in a decent run and the barn obviously has him going in the right direction now.

Of the rest:

Hades from Panionios Racing ran better than most thought he would and has obviously been improving as he matures. Interesting to see where he shows up next.

Ripple Effect from Family Racing ran well enough from the post draw to warrant another spin with this type.

Soho Danze from Ashwood Farms took advantage of his post draw and tracked nicely until the pressure turned up late. He might need easier to prevail.

Byte City from DJC Racing Stables didn’t have the best of trips and could not keep up late. He also appeared to not enjoy the surface or the pilot’s instructions on the afternoon.

Attacks from Night Rider Stables got more support at the windows than understandable by this handicapper and the money just kept pouring in. Unfortunately for those punching the tickets it didn’t exactly work out.

Fire Eyes also from Mb Stables came out a little awkwardly and that was all she wrote. The colt just sort of circled the oval in a less than stellar outing.

Never A Doubt from DJC Racing Stables showed only brief speed today and then backed out of it to run down the track.

Cruising Continental from Nakamura Stables showed no speed from the inside draw and that ended his day really quick, along with his backers.
