Well, we had this one all discombobulated…  what we saw as the long-shot won the race and our pick ran last… Welcome to HOU for this group.  At least the beer is cold, but it’s Shiner.  When the dust settled in Saturday’s TTA Derby, it really wasn’t even close… Blue Ridge Racing’s Jade Sweep wired this field like the others were wearing steel shoes, winning by three and stopping the clock at 1:39.34 for the mile and seventy yards.  The chestnut gelding made this his third win from eight starts and takes his earnings to $95.480.

Swamp Reaper, the .40 post time favorite from The Sidley Stud, closed late to grab the second spot, a quarter length better than Luz International’s Neutral Zone was third, and his stablemate, Hurleys Loan, took the minor share of the $102.000 purse.  Eight lengths covered the field of six and we had no scratches.
