Reciprocal Rubber Rushes Home in Rushaway Stakes at TP

Rushaway Stakes
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $250.000 Three-Year-Olds. At TP

1st     Reciprocal Rubber           Maxmillion Farm          5-1 (HRP) *5-2 (SRF)

Reciprocal Rubber looks a lot like he will be close to KYD favourite when the gates open the first Saturday in May. This was another of his patented stalk to the stretch and unload down the lane to catch them at the wire, this time with a head to spare in the same time he won the Grade II KY Jockey Club. In fact, if you analyze it, it looks like he registers approximately the same time for all his 1 1/16 mile races. Looking forward to what he can do when they stretch out.

2nd      Have No Fear                     Mb Stables                7-1 (HRP) 4-1 (SRF)

I mentioned in my preview that Have No Fear needed to get his timing right, and he nearly did it as he made his move into the stretch and was actually in front of Reciprocal Rubber coming into the stretch but lost the duel with that one by a head at the wire.

3rd     El Heat           The Sidley Stud                      *6-5 (HRP) 3-1 (SRF)

HRP thought El Heat would win and made him favourite. I also thought he would win, but figured Reciprocal Rubber would be favourite… not sure why Reciprocal Rubber was such a long price, but I do know El Heat just got too far back with a bunch of closers and mistimed his run to the wire. He is going to appreciate the longer distances of the TC races.

4th      Master Of One             Winning Link Stables           8-1 (HRP) 7-2 (SRF)

Master Of One came here from the free side and accounted for himself admirably. He forced the pace to the stretch, moved into the lead at the top of the lane and got run down by a bunch of closers, still only lost by a length. If this race were not so loaded with closers, there’s no telling how it might have gone for him.
