Purse $102.000 – For Fillies Three Years Old Foaled In TX

1 Mile 70 Yards – Dirt

Sam Houston Race Park – March 21, 2026

Undefeated around two turns and now a three-time stakes winner, Keimars Mistress strolls home in the 4th Texas Thoroughbred Association Oaks. The Astronokai filly is now five-for-seven lifetime, and the victory pushes her earnings to $180.900. Luz International, who recorded a win in this stakes back in 2024, adds another to his résumé, while jockey Deshawn Parker notches his first victory in the race. Keimars Mistress appears to have a bright future ahead, with potential not only at route distances but also in sprinting. A deserving victory for the connections who put a lot of time and effort into Texas breeding.

Winner: Keimars Mistress – (Luz International, D L. Parker) Heading into the first turn, this filly settled in fourth behind her two stablemates. One by one, she started moving up on the leaders down the backside before kicking it into high gear. The ⅜ pole was when Keimars Mistress swept past her rivals in the blink of an eye and found herself a length in front coming into the stretch. It was over from there as she powered away to win by two lengths in the end. The outside post set her up with a perfect trip, and she took advantage of it. Watch out for this filly for the rest of the year.

Second Place: Grey Tart – (Panionios Racing, J L. Alvarez) The 1/2 favorite had a ground saving trip on the rail in her second start against State-Bred. Grey Tart sat in third around the first turn and down the backstretch. She started to move up a little around the half-mile pole when Keimars Mistress was launching her bid. Down the stretch, there was no catching the winner, so Grey Tart was left trying to chase. She ended up with a second-place finish, but was ahead by two lengths from the rest. There’s definitely some talent here; all she needs to do is find the right field moving forward.

Third Place: Choosin Texas – (T Boy Racing, F. Wethey Jr.) For her first time against winners, Choosin Texas put together a huge effort. She didn’t have much speed out of the gate and ended up trailing the field early. Down the backside, she was sitting five lengths back and waited to make her move until the 5/16 pole. The daughter of Serpiente Party had to angle out four wide in the stretch but didn’t make any headway on the horses in front. The filly ahead of her was fading, and Choosin Texas just nosed her out for third. More experience will be needed to run in these races.

Fourth Place: A Stones Throw – (Luz International, R. Diaz) As the longshot, this filly tried to steal the race on the front end. She cleared the field early and was able to keep the lead until the 5/16 pole when the other fillies were beginning their rallies. Coming into the stretch, A Stones Throw was no match for the winner, however she did hold off Choosin Texas just before the finish. It wasn’t a bad effort coming out of the claiming ranks, but this homebred for Luz International will need to find some different friends moving forward.
