1st R U Ready To Code The Sidley Stud Elliott S 1:41.15
There is no form like winning form and this one proved it today by taking her fourth win in a row. She went straight to the front and had a gap on them at the half mile pole, a gap she would easily hold all the way home. This was a facile win and a clear indicator that she is one of those late maturing types who may well have even bigger wins in her. The Sidley Stud claimed her for just $6.250 last summer so she can be forgiven for her runs in lower grade before she started to show the sort of form that has led her to three stakes wins in a row. I doubt we will see her in the fair grade again for a while!

Form here at HRP can be a very hard read at times and this one showed again that you can never really take form at face value. Beaten a head by Credit Crime last time you would think an effort like that would be good enough in this race but today she stalked the lead and always looked a clear second best. Her form would suggest a leader’s running style but the slightly quicker early pace saw her sliding into the stalk and from there she never looked like getting back at the winner. I am a bit perplexed with this run, either the winner is two lengths better than Credit Crime or this filly just isn’t ready to win at this level yet. Only time will tell us whether she can turn these two good efforts into wins in the future, but with only eight career starts so far, she is certainly entitled to have improvement in her
3rd El Sweetie Greyfriars Stable Centeno A 1:41.92
Ran better than her 200/1 odds would suggest and will certainly cheer the trainer up. She got a long way back after a start that promised she may lay up closer than normal but as usual she finished pretty well to end up a good third. Still fairly lightly raced as a four-year-old she has done pretty well so far this year and maybe able to put some black type on her record before the season is done.
4th Midnight Rumble Riggins Racing Bocachica Ar 1:41.95
These closers really do have it tough here at HRP as there are plenty of these type that can’t seem to muster much more than a 49 second half mile but always finish fast and too late. She should’ve won more races but still has a decent record considering her ‘handicap’ and I am sure she will get the timing right at least once more this year.
