Oh, be still my heart… KEE in the spring. The flowers blooming, the fresh cut green grass, the ladies in their sundresses. It’s a great time to be alive! And the gate is nearly full of turf speedsters set to go five and a half furlongs in the Shakertown (GII).

It’s a bit early to start thinking about 3yo’s vs older horses, but we have to contemplate such in this one as the sophomores pickup an eight pound advantage. Still, it’s hard for me to get on that bandwagon, as I’m a bit old fashioned.

Let’s look for Bayldonite to be a big factor today… and why not? He’s been in a pair of near misses vs. similar, beaten a nose in the Colonel Power at FG, and neck back in the San Simeon on the down-hill course in SoCal. A repeat of either should be good enough, I think.

I’ll take Sorcerer as my second selection, despite the fact that he hasn’t won since Aug… he has won a nice sum of money doing this type of work, and that mile Alw race at SA should have him at his fighting weight, and ready to make some noise. The Big Barn is always tough at KEE… don’t sleep on him.

I’ll take a flyer for my third pick and landed right between those two. Golden Missle is on a three-race win streak and it was almost like T7I was begging someone to claim this one. Well, Spb Racing stepped up to the plate, plunked down $40.000 to make the private purchase and now it’s into the deep end of the pool. His speed can be lethal.

There are a bunch of others that are worth a mention, but let’s ride with these and see if we can make a few bucks.
