It wasn’t the most important race of the day, but a field of nine NY-Breds were looking to pick up what would be the biggest win of their careers in the $200.00 Your Biscuits. It was an evenly matched field, so it was certainly up for grabs for any of them. Getting the job done would be Liberty Street, a still lightly raced gelding for D J C Racing Stables. The trainer, who is known for a good NY breeding program, earned his fourth win in the Your Biscuits, or formerly the Times Square. His previous wins came with Yes Its True (2014), American Horror (2015) and Licit (2024). J Lezcano would be the winning rider and wins this stake for the first time. Congratulations to them! The time of the win was 1:15.30, ranking as the fifth quickest in the race’s history. D J C’s Licit still holds the stake record. Let’s take a look at it now:

(1/4 Mile- :22.45)- Fear Of The Walking Dead will go out to the early lead, and the Big Guns Stables colt will be clear by a length as they work their way down the backstretch. Running four wide is Lesnar, with the Royalty Stables entry not quite able to clear Choppy Inc.’s Cringey, who runs in the third position right to inside. The two that are closest to the rail here include our eventual winner from D J C Racing Stables, Liberty Street, as well as Maxmillion Farm’s Tanking. Hunter runs right behind this group of four for Family Racing, and it’s a length and a half to the Mb Stables maiden Mind Over Mane. Post time favorite Eternal One (TwinTowersRacing) is a length behind him, and the trailer is Yankee Proud (Temulac Farm).

(½ Mile- :45.59, Top of Stretch, 1.8F To Go)- Around the turn, the lead still belongs to Fear Of The Walking Dead, who continued to have plenty of life in his stride. Of the four that had been behind him, two of them are looking like they will be continuing to be threats. Lesnar took the long way around the turn, still running four wide for most of it, and would be second for now. Liberty Street would run right on the rail once he was able to inch ahead of Tanking, and this put him in great position to pounce once in the stretch. Both Cringey and Tanking, who had been up there were not able to keep up this pace, and nor could Hunter, who had been right behind them. Eternal One held steady, but would need to pick up quickly in the stretch if he wanted to pick up the trophy. Mind Over Mane looked to make an outside move, and Yankee Proud looked like the Yankees hitting as of late.

(Finish- 1:15.30)- In the stretch, Liberty Street looked to gain on Fear Of The Walking Dead, but the pacesetter was not going to go down without a fight. Lesnar was still with them, but was looking more and more like the third place horse with every stride in the stretch. With a furlong to go, Liberty Street had all but passed the leader, and would soon go by as they got closer to the wire. His strong stride allowed him to win by half a length, with Fear Of The Walking Dead’s persistence not being wasted as he earns second. Lesnar is indeed third, but narrowly over the closing Eternal One, who simply began his run too late. From him, it’s a length and a half to Mind Over Mane, who prevails over Tanking, Cringey, Hunter, and Yankee Proud.

About The Winner- Liberty Street, trained by D J C Racing Stables, and ridden to victory by J Lezcano, is a three year old colt by Liberty Valance and is out of Line Street. He was bred in New York by Jkk Racing Stables as a third quarter two year old, and was quickly claimed on debut by D J C Racing Stables for $5.00 last November. Congratulations to the connections! The win is his second in four starts, and first stake win. His career earnings are now $144.20.
