Reign Supreme Turns Tables on Rivals with Perfect Trip in American Turf

American Turf G1

1 Mile on Turf $1,000.00

Churchill Downs Louisville, KY

Reign Supreme from Mb Stables looked like a winner after the half mile pole and when he angled out there was no doubt. “Supreme” was the recipient of a brilliant ride by Frankie Dettori this afternoon and the trip made the difference in turning the tables on a couple rivals. Congrats to the connections on the big win. Yellowbrick Road from DJC Racing Stables made the connections and the backers happy today with a monster effort, running second here after a dull effort in a grade 3 right off the $150.00 purchase. Big rebound today, it will be interesting to see the next placement and effort. Gaelic Commander from High Voltage was our top pick and also the betting publics, but had, to say it nicely, an eventful journey going about nine wide into the lane. “Commander” did well to complete the trifecta and continues to fire in the afternoons. Stormy Knight, also from Mb Stables did well in this acid test today, and I am sure he won’t be leaving stakes company anytime soon. Nice effort by these top four horses.

Of The Rest:

Montauciel from Waldo looked out of his element in the form but proved himself with a good run today. Should be ready for a podium visit soon.

Hengroen from Delta Farms looked to be in tough here and ran a nice race. He too has to be viewed as getting closer to paydirt.

Bells N Whistles from TwinTowersRacing was not able to move up from his last effort and finished mid-pack today.

Simple Man from Serenity Stables was unable to show enough zip from his outside post and thus never really got on track here in just a circling the oval kind of effort today.

Kuykendahl from Luz International took more action at the windows than I expected but was unable to back the support as he tired after three-quarters and dropped back to finish ninth.

Britslastempire from Lemax Farms ran a race that kind of backs up the pre-race thinking that he is a nice horse who unfortunately received a bad age change turning three. This and his previous two efforts scream it. But then again, the post today was a killer, and he pressed for quite a while before throwing in the towel. Interesting to see the next placement and effort for this past two-year-old champ.

No Prince, also from Mb Stables was sent hard for the lead and spit it out after three-quarters. A drop in class might have him be long gone in his next dance.

In The Drink from Pan Farms did not get the rain he was hoping for, he broke mid-pack and backed out of it as the race progressed.

Drummer Boy, also from DJC Racing Stables broke slow and was unable to make any impact whatsoever from his outside post. He ran last throughout the running.

PC Police from Threshold was a late scratch.
