Happy 4th of July!
Sitting Bulls Champ from Mb Stables draws the rail in this small field Grade 2 event at Los Alamitos Saturday. “Champ” should go and sit right off the presumed leader gunning from the outside in gate number five and then take over before turning into the stretch drive. She will be a short price to do just that. Reflex Action from The Sidley Stud could end up in the garden spot if she breaks alertly. She should be positioned right off the top choice and get first run if that one falters. Shes All I Need from TwinTowers Racing made a nice move when meeting the top two choices in Canada when she broke poorly. In a small field like this, a clean break could have dramatic impact and the four year old could surprise at a price.
Of The Rest;
Illusionary State from Nakamura Stables is not the quickest horse on the grounds but she might look like it in this spot. She should gun and take them along as far as she can. She is a big three year old filly at 16.2 hands so she won’t be intimidated in here. She knows where the wire is, hitting the charmed circle five times already. If she breaks alertly she could give a good sight for a long while.
Pride Cometh from Mo Mentum Farm is a five year old mare that appears over her head in here, class wise. One point of interest however, is the fact that she just switched back to dirt in her last start after many turf runs. She won that race going seven panels in a first level allowance. Stranger things have happened and she certainly found the easiest possible graded spot to take a shot in.
