Wild Applause
1 Mile InTurf Stake Purse $150.00 Fillies Three-Year-Olds. At SAR
Wild Applause is a small but closely matched field of lightly raced fillies headed by the lightest races of all, Mb Stables’ Stagger Home which was just impressive breaking her maiden over a sharp maiden field. I expect the most competition will come from Our Athletes’ Missing Dress which has a third place in a graded stakes to her name. Here’s the field:
Horse Owner Odds SRF
Stagger Home Mb Stables *3-1 89
Missing Dress Our Athletes 3-1 93
Free The Viking La Canada Racehorses 7-2 89
Heaven Park D J C Racing Stables 4-1 89
Matilda Jung Noblepark 5-1 96
1 Free The Viking La Canada Racehorses 89
Free The Viking won a 1 1/16 mile optional claimer at FE and also broke her maiden at 1 16 miles. In between was a series of excellent performances on turf, any at a mile. I doubt she needs that extra 1/16 mile, but if she does, she will like still be a part of the finish.
2 Matilda Jung Noblepark 96
Matilda Jung scored a big SRF number last, but it was at 5 1/2 furlongs whiles running seventh, so it’s pretty muddy. She has yet to have won at a mile, but she broke her maiden a 7 1/2 furlongs.
3 Heaven Park D J C Racing Stables 89
Heaven Park took four races to break her maiden on the turf, but it was a matter of getting some distance for the win. She followed that victory with a win on the dirt in a pricey AQU State Bred allowance race
4 Missing Dress Our Athletes 93 she w
Missing Dress finished third in the Grade III Appalachian at KEE but then failed at the 1 1/16 mile Edgewood at CD. With the sterling record that preceded that one loss, I think that back at a mile she will be a factor at the wire.
5 Stagger Home Mb Stables 89
Mb Stables thought enough of Stagger Home to enter her in the Grade II SA Oaks where she showed a decent closer performance coming from tenth to fifth. She followed that with a come from last to win a maiden race at CD. I expect she will win another.
