-A big Saturday here in Toronto Canada and lots of puzzles to solve for the handicapper’s and horsemen taking part in the proceedings. Rain Rattle from Bears Stable will get plenty of support here even with the far outside draw. “Rattle” has run back-to-back 100 numbers over this track in her last two starts, winning one and getting nosed out in her last. Those numbers top the charting for this one time $4 claimer, making her one of the top claims in recent history. No real reason to think that she is done just yet. Present Tense from Mb Stables easily tops the charting money wise and last year’s Breeder’s Cup Distaff winner looks to make a surface switch here to get back to the winner’s circle for the first time in 2026. Her only other attempt on the sod was in last year’s Flower Bowl where she was favored but ran a disappointing 5th in a six horse field. Mixed feelings, but because of the barn she must be given some chance to get back on the beam. This is also clearly not the strongest Grade 1 cast to have ever been assembled. Explorer from Avenue Z is a professional six year old race mare with nine wins and seven seconds from twenty-eight starts. She has raced exclusively in graded stakes company since May of last year and will certainly not be short. She is a grinder in a field full of question marks and that usually adds up to some level of success. Dianas Fury from DJC Racing Stables is a four year old that offers an angle play here, that being her number earned last start over this track. It was big, as was the effort, much better than the form would indicate. She was 99/1 on the board, but ran her lifetime best figure. She won’t be close to that price here but still should offer some wagering value.

Of The Rest;

Jury Pool from John Henry bids for the hat trick here after the recent claim of only $24. She has run well in just about every start of her life, draws the rail and has a decent late kick regardless of the distance. Definate food for thought.

Rephrase, also from Mb Stables, has the distinct look of a typical turn and burn type here. Lightly raced and generally speaking, a speed type, it looks pretty clear that the intentions are to “go”. Especially so when looking at her more seasoned stablemate.

Last Word Lucy from TwinTowers Racing has zip and has a couple numbers that are an outside “fit” here, but the distance will be a major concern at crunch time.

Ruths House, also from TwinTowers Racing, is also fast enough to compete sprinting and can easily throw a wrench into the pace here. Not sure how long she will stick around, but she should have her name called early on.

Look At The Horizon from Patterson Stables is a six year old mare with lifetime earnings of just under $64. She has never raced around two turns, let alone at a mile and a quarter. To ask her to do it at the grade 1 level is more than a reach, even with a fairly weak field. She should be all of 99/1.
