A strong odds on favourite he did what was necessary by getting on the speed and then holding on by a half-length. He was dour rather than impressive but how they win at HRP means very little and he was in front where it mattered. This is a well-deserved win after a highly consistent season.

2nd       Term Limits                    TwinTowersRacing      Sanchez M J          1:34.43                —

Considering he won the TX Derby in May the 200/1 odds were very generous but then the odds monkeys do have a habit of getting it wrong fairly often. He got back so was racing the race engine and as is usually the case he came up just short in that role of closer. A good effort and I would be taking those sorts of odds when he runs next time.

3rd        Cheap Ways                  Mb Stables                     Santana R Jr     1:34.49                —

The seven-year-old was having his first run for the new stable after being bought from Riggins Racing and ran a pass mark to be a closing third. This was a good first effort in the new silks and I would be looking for improvement next time.

4th        Keto                                   Family Racing               Lopez P    1:34.70                —

The wide gate speed push couldn’t get him clear of the pack and he ended up in the dreaded close stalk from a wide gate. Sure enough he weakened out down the stretch but did hold on for fourth in a fair effort.
