1st Brit Style Lemax Farms 5-1 HRP 4-1 SRF
The ever-consistent Brit Style just loves a mile turf race, coming within a half-length of the win in the Grade I Shoemaker Mile at SA, now romps in City of Hope Mile by two lengths. The compact bay gelding by Southern Style came out of the stating gate prominently in fourth forcing the leaders to get a move on or he’d be coming through and he did; he was second at the top of the stretch and just kept motoring on to a handy win at near track record time that earned a SRF 100.
2nd Legit Bigchief Stables *4-1 HRP *3-1 SRF
Legit got the favourtism because of his incredible consistency, at least that’s why I gave it to him. I did mention, though, that a mile is not his favourite distance in that he prefers to go longer, and it showed up here as he was sixth early in a solid pack that was no more than a length off the lead but started his run too late and could not catch the storming Brit Style.
3rd Noble Conquest High Voltage 37-1 HRP 6-1 SRF
High Voltage made a savvy purchase and placement when they bought mile turf-loving Noble Conquest from Riggins Racing for $40.00 and placed him here as his fist attempt for the stable as he came out of the starting gate dueling for the lead and did so onto the stretch where he took over the lead only to be overtaken by the closers but held on to third in a photo.
4th Credit Criminal Aer Stables 17-1 HRP 15-1 SRF
Credit Criminal switched over to turf sprint racing after six dirt races and now proved that he will be able to run routes on the grass as well as he switched tactics to deep closer for the mile distance, coming out of the starting gate back in eighth and laying deep, still seventh at the top of the lane and passing enough horses to capture the minor award.
