1st        Lava Man          Mb Stables      Alvarado J                        1:11.33

There was an air of inevitability about this race. The off track playing perfectly for the horse, the pace strong enough up front to suggest that the AI had once again misjudged the effects of an off track and the ability of Mb’s runners to find a path through.

The odds monkeys finally got their computations spot on as the odds on favourite all but booked his place in the BC Turf Sprint with a comprehensive victory.

As if the trainers brilliance wasn’t on display enough the reigning BC Sprint champion that had many gasping when he was sold for just $17 by the GOAT trailed in last proving that Mb’s domination just doesn’t come from racing but in making the tough decisions.

I think this one may be underestimated in the BC and if it comes up wet then watch out!      

2nd       Neon Delite     Temulac Farm               Maragh C                         1:11.68

Wasn’t left alone on the front end and probably went faster than he wanted as the wide gate speed push did everything it could to get him on speed. In the end this was a good second to a superior horse and whilst we wont see him in the BC I am sure there is maybe one more decent race in the locker for him.    

3rd        Kidding              High Voltage   Carmouche K                               1:11.82

His horse lead pace is usually a bit slack to go on speed on a dry track but on a wet one he can keep up and held the rail nicely from the wide gate to fight for the lead most of the way. In the end he fell away from the first two to end up third.

4th        Hanger 18        John Henry      Davis D                             1:12.27

Possibly the least suited by the track conditions he just couldn’t quicken on the off track and ended up fourth. The weather was against him today but I am sure on a dry track he will bounce back.
