Preference to BC Sprint Points
I know it’s a minor or non-important part of the race, but I think HRP gave me a triple dead-heat for last place as a parting gift.
When the dust settled in Saturday’s BC Sprint (GI) The Master put another BC race in his holster as Star Vault raced mid-pack to the lane and then just wore down the field to secure the victory by a half-length, stopping the teletimer at 1:083 for the six panels. Breaking a step slow, the size of the field allowed him to continue from an inside position, without cover for the first quarter mile. The rail continued to be his friend, saving ground into the lane where he was guided into the four path for the run home. And the run home is exactly where this one shows his true worth as he grinds and grinds and grinds until he pulled away in the final sixteenth and held off all challengers to secure Mb Stables yet another BC and another G1 win – by the time this weekend came to a close, this monster stable now has 365 G1 wins and 36 BC victories – just an amazing accomplishment. Bred by the great Smokey Stover and acquired by Mb at the Sept. 2024 Auction for $90.000, the grey gelding now has seven wins from twenty-four starts and earnings of $2,281.84 – $1,709.00 of that coming this season from only two wins.
Congrats to Mb Stables and all of the connections of Star Vault.
