Coming into Sundays Kona Stakes (GIII), John Henrys A Beagle Named Boo certainly seemed to have the hot hand and the hot form… he kept that streak going making it four wins in his last five starts, taking the six and a half furlong sprint by a neck in a final time of 1:144.  Glorious did everything he could to make a race of it, but just couldn’t get there in time, settling for the second spot.  Gothic Heart, somehow ignored by the betting public and sent off at more than 99/1 odds, set the early pace but held on for the third spot, a neck better than Kiss the Snake in fourth.

A Beagle Named Boo is a 5yo black gelded son of Captain Rush – Skyhigh Petite One, by Skyhigh Moon, and she was bred here in Cal by Jive Inc.  Acquired via Private Purchase in Feb of 2019 for $60.000, he’s proven to be a very smart purchase, now winning nine of twenty-eight starts with ten other on-the-board finishes.  That has accumulated lifetime earnings of $578.010, and the old gelding looks to still have something in the tank.  Congrats to the connections!
