The Hanshin
1 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $300.00 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.
1st Distant Breeze The Sidley Stud Lopez P
In the end it was class and guts that got this one home after he went straight to his favored lead and then held on gamely in the run to the post. This is now four in a row for the six-year-old who has really found his form and seems to be able to win from any gate in any conditions. If he can keep this up for the in-form stable, I can see him leading them up in the BC Dirt Mile and who would deny him a winning chance in this sort of form.
2nd General Zod Royalty Stables Velazquez J R
Stalked the first two and really tried hard in the run for home but just couldn’t out battle the winner in the end. This was a better effort again and I think as the four-year-olds can take a little while to catch up the older horses at this time of year that he may have a big Autumn ahead of him.
3rd Themefrom Antarctica Ajm Stables Conner T
Came from nowhere to be third in a huge late run but timing and the race engine are a difficult marriage, and he left it all too late. I underestimated this one a little as did the odds monkeys, but he is another four-year-old that may just be heading for a big Autumn.
4th Crumbler Maxmillion Farm Gutierrez Mario
Stalked the early lead but just couldn’t quicken in the end being beaten less than a length into fourth. A solid effort.
