Thursday was a day of solemn celebration, if those two words can be used in a single phrase.  A day to celebrate the the founder of the Simulated Racing Form, a friend, colleague, competitor… but most of all just a great guy, Michael LaRosa.  We lost Mike on March 15th, and in the blink of an eye, the world was just not as happy… not as kind.

I think you will learn about about our dear friend… I certainly did.  Thank you Mike, for being you… you will be missed. 

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that contributed to this great afternoon of racing, all of the owners that participated, everyone that stopped by for the online coverage of the races.  It really proves that this is a fantastic community of horse enthusiasts, but most of all a community of great people.  again, thanks to all of you.  Mb, Smokey… you guys are great!  The SRF Team, stellar!  

Also, a big tip of the cap to HorseRacingPark management for their hard work in setting up the races, the Pick’Em Contest and their financial contributions, to help make this a fun afternoon of racing and celebration.  Happy Birthday to HRP!!
