Getting old is no fun…  I’m writing the AR Derby when I should be doing the OP Mile (GIII).  Yeah, about average for me right now.

This is one of those races that could go any number of ways… some of these are very consistent but don’t win a lot, some win but will throw a bad race… now, what to do, what to do.  I’ve landed on the outside post and will take Obi Wan as the top pick  He’s almost always involved but hasn’t won since the Dandy (GII) at SAR last summer.  Still, second in the BC Dirt Mile (GI), as well as the GP Mile (GIII) last out, you have to like him.

Speaking of the BC Dirt Mile (GI) and the GP Mile (GIII), Eight West Party won them both… he was also eleventh in the Peg World Cup (GI), eighth in the Vosburgh (GIII)… you get the idea.  When he’s good, he’s almost unbeatable, but other times he just throws a dud.  Today?

I’ll put Universal Speed in the third spot, kicking off his ’26 season with an Alw win at TAM.  Now, don’t be fooled, he won the Malibu (GI) at SA, so he has the ability to run with any type.  He may just run this bunch off the track, and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit.
