Precise Performance has had a fantastic career, winning the BC Distaff and placing second in the BC Fillies and Mares Sprint. She’s continued to run well this year, but for some reason the betting public allowed her to go off at 8/1 odds. We didn’t make that mistake, as we did put her on top, and the mare put on a precisely good performance to back up our support. Perhaps, since she has been sprinting for a while, there were doubts about her going ten furlongs but she has thrived at longer distances in her career as well. Precise Performance would go wire to wire, getting the win for Mb Stables, which is his second in the race. He won last year as well, with Fashionable. Mar Garcia is the winning jockey, his first. Congratulations to them! The time of the victory was 2:00.97, one of the quicker times in the race’s history. Let’s take a look!

(½ Mile- :47.89)- Precise Performance does not waste any time getting out to the lead, and our eventual winner from Mb Stables is all alone on the front end down the frontstretch and into the turn. After half a mile, she has an approximate three length lead over a trio of horses. That group consists of her stablemate, Soviet Sensation, who runs on the outside. To her inside, it is Speedy Ginger on the rail for The Sidley Stud, and Maxmillion Farm’s Flickering Light running between horses. Stalking them closely, it is Threshold’s Cp Dark Pain. Behind her, they are lined up in single file formation, with the order being Chance In Graceland (Night Rider Stables), Terra Command (Threshold), and Starship Qanon (TwinTowersRacing).

(3/4 Mile- 1:11.70)- Down the backstretch, Precise Performance is looking very strong, with a comfortable three length lead while not overdoing herself with the early fractions. Knowing her ability to go long as well, Mb Stables had to like how she was looking at this point and probably also enjoyed that Soviet Sensation would prevail amongst the group of three stalkers, and took over the second position. She has a half length lead on Speedy Ginger, and Flickering Light is starting to lose contact with them. Cp Dark Pain continued to run on the rail, waiting for her time to strike while Chance In Graceland began to pull up along her outside. Terra Command and Starship Qanon were nine and ten lengths back.

(Top of Stretch, 1.5F To Go)- Rounding the turn, Precise Performance maintained her graceful stride, and it was beginning to look all the more apparent that she was about to pick up the win. Her three length lead was in tact, and no one was looking like a threat. At this point, Mb Stables was likely hoping to get the top two positions, and Soviet Sensation was also looking pretty good in that regard. She was outperforming Speedy Ginger, and Flickering Light dropped out of it, however, Chance In Graceland was emerging from deeper in the pack and looking like a good threat for at best, the second spot. Cp Dark Pain, Terra Command, and Starship Qanon were beaten horses at this point.

(Finish- 2:00.97)- This would simply be a brilliant effort by Precise Performance, who was never challenged for the entire race. She jumped out to the lead, and led by three lengths for the entirety of the race, reminding her rivals and apparently the doubters that let her go off at 8/1 odds, that she is a former BC Distaff champion. Everyone else was running for second, and Mb Stables will pocket the second place spoils as well with Soviet Sensation as that one ran well to the wire, too, and beat Chance In Graceland by a length. Speedy Ginger hangs on over Terra Command for fourth. Then it’s Starship Qanon, Cp Dark Pain, and Flickering Light.

About The Winner- Precise Performance, trained by Mb Stables and ridden to victory by Mar Garcia, is a five year old mare by Coin Flip and is out of Furious Missile. She was bred in California by Mb Stables as a second quarter two year old, and they have been together throughout. Congratulations to the connections! The win is her twelfth in 27 starts, her ninth stake win, and seventh graded win. Her career earnings are now $3,601.210.
