The winner of nearly $2,000.000 in prize money she was the narrowly beaten runner up in the BC Distaff last year and the winner of 3 grade ones. She really is a superstar and today she meets some old rivals and who can really tell how the race will unfold. I thought she had won the Santa Margarita last time out but just got beat in a driving finish dead heating with Conspiring for second. I thought she would win that day and i think she will win today but these top fillies and mares are so close in ability its almost impossible to tell who will win today.
2 Sleep Loose Chili King Stables Talamo J
A winner of two from just four lifetime starts she has won her last two from off the front but in much much lesser company. It should be pretty much impossible for her to win today but she is a nice sort and her day will come.
3 Conspiring Mb Stables Bejarano R
Back to her Hirsch winning best last time when running on strongly to dead heat with Whispering Nurse in the Santa Margerita when just a head second to Shake It Off. I have always had a high opinion of this filly and she looked right back to her best last time. Suited by a small field she will again go very close and her number is certainly in the lottery hopper to win.
4 Viking Vania Delta Farms Albarado R J
The winner of last years BC Distaff beating Whispering Nurse by a head she was a shade disappointing in the Santa Margerita last time when a weak fifth a couple of lengths behind Conspiring and Whispering Nurse. I really can’t explain that last run other than she got left in front on ground she didnt like and i would imagine she will be back to within heads and necks of the win again today.
5 Dirty Deeds Aer Stables Ortiz I Jr
She ran a cracker from a terrible draw in the BC Distaff to be fourth beaten just a length after trying to make all the running. She was again beaten a length by Viking Vania in the Hou Ladies Classic on her seasonal debut and then sidetracked the Santa Margerita to take the Azeri by a half length last time out. She gets the wide draw yet again today but will almost certainly be within a length one way or the other of the others today.
SUMMARY
4 of the best fillies and mares in the game grace this field but to be honest it really is impossible to tell which one will win. If the rains come then it may be whispering Nurse, if they dont then it could be a 4 way dead heat. Whatever happens i am sure we will be in for another exciting match.
