Agapova and Royalty Stables Surprise in BC Juvenile Fillies

BC Juvenile Fillies – Grade 1 – $2,000.000

SA – 1 1/16 Mile – Dirt

For Fillies Two Years Old

November 3, 2023

It wasn’t a shock. Agapova went off at 6-1, and even though she had never won a graded stakes race, she did have some solid creds coming into this race. But Royalty Stables’ homebred filly went from pretty good to great in a little more than a minute and a half on Friday. And she did it in dramatic come from behind style.

For the first ¾ of the race, Agapova was nowhere, riding in 13th position until the kick for home when she gobbled up ground and leader Purple Charger. It was one for the ages and gave Royalty his first BC win. That distinction wouldn’t last long as Royalty added to that statistic with a win the same day in the BC Juvenile.

Complete Order of Finish:

1 Agapova (Royalty Stables) Came from well off the pace, four wide on the turn for home, won in the final furlong

2 Purple Charger (Fractious) Stalked the pace early, took control midway, outrun in the stretch and settled for second.

3 Fake Sunset (Arkansas Elite) Close throughout, very even trip to finish third.

4 Lil Sunshine (Threshold) Traffic problems, gained ground late to tie for fourth.

4 Be Yourself (Mb Stables) Came from off the pace to get up for fourth in a tie.

6 Children Of The Sod (Onlineracingclub.com) Even, mid-pack trip for sixth.

7 Sitting Bulls Champ (Mb Stables) Three lengths out of it the whole trip.

8 War Show (Jive Inc.) Wide trip, faded slightly in the stretch.

9 Luka Fashion (Nakamura Stables) Never a factor.

10 No More Shots (Jive Inc.), 11 Freed From Desire (The A Stable), 12. I Made A Decision (Jireh),12 Aghast (Mb Stables), 14 Reflex Action (D J C Racing Stables)

Agapova was bred in CA by owner, Royalty Stables, and is by Heretowinthisfight x Diva Delite (Lost Battalion). This was her second win in five starts and brings her career earnings to $1,351.000. Congratulations to Royalty Stables and Agapova!
