1 Sinning Black (Night Mare Racing)

Has a second and a third in six starts this year, including a second in the TAM Derby (Grade 3). Hasn’t been able to get it done in Grade 1 company. This spot should be more to his liking, and he could come away with part of the purse.

2 Last Laugh (Mb Stables)

Coming in off a maiden win at SAR. May need a little more experience under his belt to compete against these.

3 Fox Final Time (Spankys Barn)

Won an allowance at ELP last out at six furlongs. He has performed well at a distance, with a second in claiming company at SA at 1 1/8 mile. Was claimed out of that race and hasn’t finished out of the money since. Still needs a big effort to compete here.

4 Sirius Black (Arindel)

Won the FL Derby (Grade 1) in April but hasn’t been able to hit the board in Grade 1 company since. Another one that should like the drop in class and should have a say in the outcome.

5 World Of Outlaws (Mb Stables)

Won the Blue Grass and the TAM Derby earlier this year, and like Sirius Black, tried his luck in the KYD and BEL without success. Second in optional claiming company last out. Should benefit from the softer spot but he still has his work cut out for him.

6 Timeless (D J C Racing Stables)

Winless in seven starts this year, including the Curlin last out. Not much to recommend him. His best showing was a third in the Wood Memorial (Grade 2) back in April. May be a bit outclassed.

7 Default Setting (Nakamura Stables)

Only three starts in 2023 for this gelding. Best performance came last out in an optional claimer where he finished third. Works are strong, but he may be a bit outclassed.
