Can “Dime” Take The Money in The Muskoka at WO?

  4  WO    Muskoka Stakes

$200.000    2yoF  Foaled in Canada       6 1/2f  Dirt     120lbs +penalties

I tried to get Ali to do the handicapping in this one, and she said I should go to bed, or something like that… all I could hear was “go tuck yourself in” or, well, I’m just not sure what she told me… so, it’s my swing at pickin’ the Muskoka Stakes, a six and a half furlong test for the female Canada bred youngsters.  No reason to chance it, so let’s go super chalky and put Dime Moment on top today.  She broke maiden at second asking, then beat open stakes company over this track in the My Dear.  That should make her odds-on for this one.  I’ll stay on the safe side with the second pick and give that to Dressed In Pink.  The Mb Stables trained filly looked sharp winning that MSW at SAR last out, and I look for her to continue to improve, and perhaps be the one to beat today.

It’s a nice group, so let’s see how this one plays-out.

Here’s The Field –

1
Sea And Stars    Mo Mentum Farm    Walcott R W   120   7/1

Got the job done in her third trip to the gate, winning over this track at the MSW level, and those were also state-bred types.  She was close in her other two races, both of those over this track, so she’s on the home-cookin’.  She was the favorite in two of those starts, so the public knows she can run.

2
   Ruby Happened    Arindel    Husbands P   120   5/1

Was third at first asking, down in TX, then won here on a damp track, taking down MSW foes.  The barn has been hot, and this one looked good to begin with, so she’s certainly a horse that deserves a big look.

3
Dressed In Pink    Mb Stables    Wilson E J   120   7/2

The big barn got this one’s picture taken at The Spa, as she took down a nice field of MSW types last out.  You always have to fear this outfit, and this one certainly looks like a horse that will make noise in her career.  Can she kick that off in a big way, today?

4
   Dime Moment    Asgar    Hernandez R M   122   7/5

Your probable post-time favorite, breaking maiden over this track then winning the My Dear vs. open stakes types… so she picks up 2lbs, but that may not matter as this one may be good enough to win with me on her back.

5
Four Star Daughter    Wood Duck Stables    Contreras L   120   8/1

They added lasix to this one when she broke maiden at CT, where this hot barn won the meet title at the bull-ring… but looks to be back off in this one, so they are still looking for the right combo to get the most out of her.  She could be a wildcard.

6
Pride Cometh    Mo Mentum Farm    Stein J   120   6/1

Got the job done here going the abbreviated sprint distance, then was ninth of twelve at SA in the FT Debutante.  They gave her 60-days after that one, and now she makes her return where she could be any type…  give her a shot here.

7
Con Minou    Big Guns Stables    Crawford J   120   8/1

Broke maiden at first asking out at FP, so she could be any type.  She worked over this track prior to that win, so they may have had something like this on her schedule all along… and that could make her dangerous.
