The Spring Meet stays in high gear and we get an absolute stellar group of older monsters set to go a mile and three-sixteenths in the Ali (GIII), here in Lexington. Wow, it’s a race that a person could see any number of ways to lay down the wagers, but I just can’t get past Special Event… and he is special. Four wins in a row, six of his last eight and he is a horse that truly came up from next to nothing. Last out, he won the SA Hcp (GI) so he is a long ways from a $5.00 Alw race at FP. I think he keeps his perfect ’26 season going.
Let’s head towards the outside gates and put Classic Look in the second spot. I know, he was sixth to the top choice in the SA Hcp (GI) but he won two prior to that race, went off as the 5/2 fav, and I just think he bounced in that one. Look for a rebound and a big effort today.
Right next to him, No Real Drama deserves a big look. He just missed in the Peg World Cup (GI) and has been rested since that late Jan effort. It was good to see him bounce back from that horrible BC Day run… but, hey… it happens. I think he can make some noise, despite his horrible draw.
The Card sees it a bit different, but that’s exactly what I would expect from this super talented group. Grab a chilly and let’s get down to the rail for a good view.
