All Hail the New Champion….Again

Prince of Wales Stakes
1 3/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $500.000 Open 3 Year Olds Foaled In Canada.

1st Danzig On The Rocks, trained by Mb Stables
The one thing we can be certain about as far as the three year old championship is concerned this year is that Danzig On The Rocks in NOT a wet tracker. Turning an 11 length fifth into a 3 length win was pretty impressive and he set the FE track record in doing so. If you string all the three year old form lines together this is now the best three year old in the game and what makes it even better is he is by a ten year old autogen out of a deactivated mare!
Never far off the fast pace this was a very easy win and i suspect we will be seeing him lock horns with the TC winners in the BC Classic.

2nd Laffin Parrot, trained by Mo Mentum Farm
The winner was bred by the stable who was runner up and the runner up was bred by the winning stable an interesting coincidence especially considering these two leading three year olds have no bloodlines to speak of.
Though there was a fourteen length turnround on the Queens Plate form he ran a super race to be second coming late off a fast pace proving he is far better than a mudder.

3rd Throwing Hands, trained by Mb Stables
Stalked the lead but weakened late he ran pretty well considering he is only a maiden winner and he did beat the KYD runner up in the process. More of a miler i dont think we will see his stamina tested again.

4th Gemini Shadows, trained by Night Rider Stables
Couldnt beat Throwing Hands this time or Danzig On The Rocks who he beat in the Queens Plate but still ran pretty well to be fourth. A decent sort but looks just below graded stakes class.

SUMMARY
For the hundredth time this year we have a new three year old champion, i wonder how long he will hold the crown?
