Angelos Stable Gets Electric Win in Palos Verdes Stakes

Palos Verdes Stakes

Purse $100.000 For Four Year Olds And Upward
Santa Anita Park, Arcadia, Ca

Electric from Angelos Stable certainly was not going to be a short horse Sunday, that was clear. Electric came out quickly to settle mid-pack in a tightly run race and always stayed in perfect striking distance. When his pilot hit the button the eight year old veteran proved too much racehorse for the rest of the field to overcome on the afternoon. Congrats to the winning connections. Only Way Is Up from The Sidley Stud was our top choice and did everything but win the race. Out with a rush and held sway until the final bit of the stretch drive in a performance that surely indicated that he is back on the beam. Neon Nightmare from Blazin D proved a lot today in defeat. The newly turned four-year-old sat and then came back on in a solid performance. Looks on the improve to my eye and I would suggest to my audience that he should be on your watch list. Clearly ready for a breakout run. Limpopo, also from The Sidley Stud sat last most of the way and then made a bold move to complete the superfecta here. Maybe he doesn’t belong on the bushes where most of his running has occurred. Nice effort today signals he is improving.

Of the rest:

Cp Overthrown Scott from Night Rider Stables came out ok and settled back to a tracking position and ran kind of even. Given his past races and the context today it can be viewed in a slightly positive light.

To The Mattresses from Threshold was a victim of the outside draw here and ran ok for a sixth-place finish. Probably needs a class drop to score.

Imposing Scenario also from The Sidley Stud came out best and after giving up the lead he continued to press until tiring to run seventh on the afternoon in a performance that can be described as disappointing given his past running lines.

Coterie from Santan Stables looked to have just circled the oval today and appeared outclassed.

Ineedu2party from Maxmillion Farm took plenty of action at the windows and came away well, pressing for most of the trip until the real running started. The newly turned four-year-old cracked and ran last. Either outclassed or the victim of the four-year-old jinx.
