Forester Turf Classic – Grade I
1 1/8 Mile Turf Stake Purse $1,000.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.
1st Winter Solstice Maxmillion Farm Castellano J
Its a turf race so why wouldnt Maxmillion win it!! I must admit i didnt think this was the one of their three entries that would but a brilliantly judged tactical race saw the four year old run through the gaps and come home a quarter length winner. The stable companion was sent to the front to ensure a good pace so with this one sat back off the fast pace it was obvious the trainer liked his chances and all went to plan as he won the biggest race of his career so far.
2nd The Ego Has Landed TwinTowersRacing Bejarano R
This la.te maturing type ran a cracker from a tough draw backing off the fast early pace and coming with a strong challenge at the end. Crazy to think just eight months ago he was winning a maiden and now he was pushing hard to win one of the best turf races of the year. A great effort and an exciting prospect for the trainer going forward.
3rd First Class Male Team 7 Illusions Carmouche K
He ran a cracker considering he is not a wet tracker and was coming from a wide gate. One of the few that lasted closer to the pace he was brave to the line and only beaten a half length which when you consider his pretty average form was a super effort,
4th Crafty Shenanigans Mb Stables Colon L H
Getting his favored wet track he turned back the clock a little to get fourth running on strongly at the end. Its clear there are some miles still on the clock especially on a track like this.
