The Lang Stakes – Grade III
6 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $200.000 Open 3 Year Olds.

The money was on this three year old despite having only won a maiden and an optional claimer but his race time of 1.08 and 4 in that race made him the quickest on paper and that coupled with the big guy behind the scenes and it was enough to make him the popular choice. I must admit though i didn’t think he would get there and it took every yard of the six furlongs to force his head alongside on the line. This was a nice step up for the improving three year old who looks a decent recruit for the sprinting ranks.
1st= Settle The Score Vr Estero Farms Davis D
I was super impressed with this gelding from the outside gate coming back to sprinting after valiant efforts in the Holy Bull and FL Derby. He went on the speed and had it won right to the last stride where he was just caught. Now the question is does his future lay in sprinting or routing?

Stayed on really nicely for third over a trip that may be just a bit short of his best. A length behind at the end he is clearly not as fast as the top two but i think will come into his own when upped to a mile.
4th Creepy Oly John Henry Cedillo A
Once again he failed to live up to his best work time going hard early and weakening late. I have a feeling that when the trainer finds the trick this one will be very good but today he was just competitive early on and had nothing left in the locker.
