It’s a Dead Heat for The Gallorette Stakes

The Gallorette Stakes – Grade III
1 1/16 Mile Turf Stake Purse $150.000 Filly & Mare 3 Year Olds And Up.

=1st          Fancifully         Smokey Stover          Gutierrez Mario

The more i am watching the races this year the more i am convinced that the weight advantage has been toyed with as the new engine was brought in. There certainly seems more competitive older horses at stakes level than there has been in the past when faced with the three year olds, whether that is just a poor crop of three year ld though only time will tell.
So onto this four year old daughter of Decima who improved nicely for this off some solid and consistent form in a lesser grade. She looked like she had stole it in the stretch but just kept giving to the line and was a deserving shared winner.

=1st        Silver Cobra          Arindel           Davis D

Switching from dirt to turf can often bring about a big performance at HRP and sure enough this one arrived on the scene late and nearly stole it. Yes, she got the three year old allowance but i think its just the general lack of surface definition here that put this filly into the race today. Closing hard this was a good effort and i think she will be winning plenty this year on either surface.

3rd           Sheza Kat           John Henry          Jaramillo E

With a dead heat for first there wasn’t much between the rest with this four year old coming out on top for third. She closed well but didn’t really show the sort of finish that saw her take the Sand Springs last time and may have been a little caught for speed at the end of this race that went fast at the start.

4th        Party In The Brig         Mo Mentum Farm        Cedillo A

The fourth home was this filly who ran well but just can’t find her good two year old form. She may just need a bit of moisture to show her best.
