Big barns win big races at big tracks on big days… they get no bigger than Mb Stables and his old boy Antonym got win number twenty-three, a pretty big accomplishment, taking the Ghostzapper (GIII) by three-quarters of a length.  He traveled the mile and an eighth in 1:533 over the sloppy main here at GP, getting his first stakes score (second overall win) of the ’22 season.  Savannah Ruler was three-quarters of a length back in second with He Needsa Manzillian, the post-time favorite, was third.  That Funky Monkey took the fourth spot.

Antonym is a 8yo bay gelded son of Keyed Up – Accidently In Love, by Charley Farley, and he was bred in ON by Team 7 Illusions.  Acquired by Mb Stables via $25.000 claim back in Feb of last season, he now has hit the board in forty-three of fifty-four starts, and as mentioned, this was his twenty-third win.  He shows no signs of slowing down, winning three of his last four starts, two of those were graded wins… he’s a heck of a race horse.  Congrats to the connections!

Antonym trailed to the far turn, swung widest for the drive, engaged leades at the sixteenth pole, kicked clear late, won driving.  Savannah Ruler rated early, advanced backside, moved 3p far turn, good late effort.  He Needsa Manzillian stalked, evenly late.  That Funkey Monkey rated, passed tiring rivals.  Broken Tap stalked the pace, lost ground far turn, tired.  Ohtani showed speed 2p to the far turn, tired.  Herbalise sent from the gate, opened a clear lead to the far turn, stopped abruptly.
