Kentucky Fox Completely Dominates The Haynesfield
It may not have been a surprise to see Kentucky Fox win the Haynesfield, since we did give him the nod to do so, but the dominant nature of how it happened was a bit unexpected. The six year old gelding would jump right to the lead from the gate, and went on to win by nearly a full second.

The AR Derby Win Establishes Hurts as KYD Favorite for Now
With 100 KYD points on the line for the winner of the AR Derby, the pressure was on most of the field to pick up the win to secure their spot in the big race. One horse that was not in a “must win” situation was Hurts, as thanks to his win in the Fountain Of Youth, he was already in a safe spot.

Mexican Pride Has Little Difficulty Winning The Serenas Song
Last month, Mb Stables claimed Mexican Pride for $50.000, and wasted no time moving her forward with her entry into the Serenas Song. She had shown the ability to win, doing so in three of her first five races, and she would do so again with this wire to wire win.

Small Field for The Haynesfield
On Sunday, a field of five older New York breds will be taking part in the 11th running of the Haynesfield, which is held at a mile over the main track. To celebrate, the race gets a $10.000 purse increase to the present $135.000 level, which is a new high.

A field of six will be headed to the starting gate for the Serena Song, an ungraded stake that runs at TP for the third time. The previous two editions were also held for a $150.000 purse.

Hurts Looks to Push to an AR Derby Win
As the KYD gets closer, the time is now for top three year olds to pick up those all important points to get into the big race. For some, it’s about further strengthening their case of not only making it to CD, but to be considered one of the favorites. For others, the AR Derby is their first chance to run in a significant prep of this magnitude.

Jerk Pork Cooks Up a Muniz Memorial Handicap Win
After winning the Benson Memorial Stakes, TwinTowersRacing would send Jerk Pork to the gate, looking for another win before the bigger races took place at FG. After a strong second in the Grade 3 TAM Stakes, there was hope that the five year old gelding could build on that, but this was a tough field.

Train Station Is Right on Time in Benson Memorial Stakes Win
TwinTowersRacing got off to a great start at FG, sweeping the two races that were on my schedule, beginning with Train Station in the Benson Memorial Stakes. This was not a major surprise, as she was our second choice and probably should have been the top one.

Alicent Looks to Stay Hot at FG in Benson Memorial Stakes
For the seventh time, the ungraded Benson Memorial Stakes will take place at FG, and it will send a field of six older females a little more than a mile on the turf course. It’ll be the third time that the race has run for $150.000, and that’s up from the $100.000 that was offered for the first edition of the race back in 2020.

Whoa! It’s Time for Muniz Memorial Handicap
Saturday is a big day at FG, as the schedule is highlighted by the Mike LaRosa LA Derby, but before we get there, we have the 21st running of the Muniz Memorial Handicap. This race has been a Grade 2 since its inception, and while the purse isn’t the $500.000 that it was 2005, it’s been constant at $300.000 since 2014.
