KEE is the place to be on Friday if you are a two year old filly that likes to run on the turf. The Grade 2 Jessamine will be providing the second of three automatic spots in the BC Juvenile Filles Turf, with Saturday’s Miss Grillo at BEL finishing off the win and you’re in races for that BC event.

Pirate Bounty Claims the Gold in The Vosburgh
Two months ago, Pirate Bounty found himself running in a $20.00 claimer at SAR, even though he had success earlier in the year in bigger races, and even some ungraded stakes last year. Winning Link Stables would pick him up for that price, and it would be a winning move for the trainer, as he collects his bounty of a BC Sprint spot.

Confident Elegance and Barossa Valley Share in The Bloom Handicap Win
Rain took out several horses at BEL on Saturday, and in the Bloom Handicap, it probably washed away our biggest story going into it, which was how Honey would handle a large weight disadvantage. She would be scratched, leaving just seven to take part in the race. Two of them would end up in the winner’s circle.

Hirsch Turf Classic Field May Be Small, But Race Is Still Loaded
This Saturday at BEL, we’ll have Grade 1 action and $500.00 on the line for the 24th running of the Hirsch Turf Classic, run at the maximum distance on the turf course. That purse has ranged between $300.00 and $750.00 over time, and the present level has been in place for the last five years and eight of the last nine.

Honey Looks to Overcome Significant Weight Disadvantage in Bloon Handicap
The Bloom Handicap is the top sprint of the day at BEL for fillies and mares, offering them $250.00 for six and a half furlongs. That amount is where the purse level has been since 2021, and is towards the upper hand of the historic purse range.

Top Sprinters Take the Stage in The Vosburgh
There will be two “win and you’re in” races for the BC Sprint this weekend, and one of them takes place at BEL, as the Grade 3 Vosburgh runs for the 24th time. The race had been a Grade 1 for the longest time, and even saw it’s purse peak at $500.00.

Complicated Crazy’s Stretch Run Clinches The PID Masters Stakes
The highlight of the day at PID was the running of the PID Masters Stakes, but there would be nothing crazy about the race’s winner, as Complicated Crazy took home the win by half a length. She was our second choice and was also the second choice on the board, at odds of 3/1.

Bold Dummy Rules Over The PID Mile
The PID Mile was one of those races where the field looked completely wide open and it would all be about execution on race day. Getting the job done on Friday would be Bold Dummy, a four year old gelding who has been very consistent since arriving with Serenity Stables six months ago.
