  • Three Sixes Looks For More OP Success In Honeybee

Like the Busher up at AQU, the Honeybee is also a fifty point race for the KYO, but it’s $750.000 purse is nearly four times more than what is seen up north. Therefore, it should not be a surprise that has attracted a stronger field than the Busher. We’ll have nine taking part in the race, which includes two of the top seven on the KYO point leaderboard.

  • Fifty KYO Points on the Line in The Busher

Saturday’s running of the Busher at AQU will be the second fifty point prep race for the KYO, something that attracts eleven fillies to starting gate. This is the 15th time that the race has been run, and the ninth time that the race has been run at a mile.

  • Gutter Black Catches Stablemate to Win Royal Delta

The betting public did not show much love to Gutter Black, making her a 21/1 longshot, but we thought otherwise and made her our pick to win! She would step up, narrowly, in a photo with her stablemate Barossa Valley, and paid $44.10 with the victory.

  • Looking For One To Love In Saturday’s Royal Delta

Last year, Wavy Girl picked up the first win of her five year old season here in the Royal Delta, and it would be a successful season that saw her end up in the BC Distaff for the third straight year. She’ll be looking to repeat that performance, which is something that no other prior winner of the race has accomplished.

  • Credit Crime Steals the Win Late in The Bayakoa

The freshly named Three Year Old Female Horse of the Year, Credit Crime, was in action on Saturday at OP for the Grade 3 Bayakoa. Mostly everyone saw everything that she accomplished last year, with the six wins in eight starts, including the KYO. Apparently, the oddsmakers were unaware of that, putting her at 15/1 for the morning line.

  • Houseofidentity Brings Home Lukas Stakes

In a well balanced field of horses that know how to either win or hit the board in most of their races, it was tough to pick a winner for the Grade 2 Lukas Stakes. Any of these fillies and mares had the ability to rise to the occasion and grab the win, so it was not a surprise that only three lengths separated first from last at the end.

  • Lukas Stakes Has No Clear Favorite

Saturday’s racing at SA includes multiple races of interest, and that includes the running of the $200.000 Lukas Stakes, which is a long sprint on the dirt for older females. Formerly known as the Monica Handicap or the Santa Monica Stakes, the race has been run every year since 2005.

  • Credit Crime Returns to Action for The Bayakoa

Six horses will be hading to the starting gate at OP for the 11th running of the Grade 3 Bayakoa, which sends older females a little more than a mile on the main track, and it will be highlighted by the scheduled 2026 debut of three year old female Horse of the Year, Credit Crime.

  • Open Invitation Breaks His Maiden in The Southwest

It always seems that at least one time a year, one of these big prep races will be won by a maiden. On Saturday in the Southwest, that’s exactly what happened as Open Invitation, a horse that had hit the board eight times out of his ten starts, finally claimed the top spot.
