In the Aristides BC, Maxmillion Farm entered a formidable duo of Creepy Romantic and Chilled Niagra as he looked to win the race for the third year in a row. Creepy Romantic had finished second in the BC Sprint last fall but was still looking for his first big win as a five-year-old. That would come on Saturday, as he would run near the front throughout before prevailing in a photo. It is indeed the third win in a row for Maxmillion Farm, and his fourth in total. L J Luzzi was aboard for his first win in this race. Congratulations to them! The winning race time was 1:08.63, which is the fourth quickest in the stake’s history. Before we take a look at it, do note that Blue Finn was a late scratch. Here’s how it happened!

(1/4 Mile- :22.11)- Chilled Niagra goes to the front for Maxmillion Farm and will have the field cleared by a length. His stablemate, and the eventual winner of the race, Creepy Romantic runs right behind him, and is himself a length ahead of the rest of the field. In the middle of the pack, we have a three wide group that has the outside runner, Angelos Stable’s Electric ahead of the others by a neck. Aggravated Jung (Noblepark), the surprising post-time favorite, is between horses while Super Powers (La Canada Racehorses) is on the rail. Mighty (Team 7 Illusions) is at the back, which is right where he likes it, early on.

(½ Mile- :45.06, Top of Stretch, 1.8F To Go)- Around the turn and into the stretch, Chilled Niagra continues to run out in front with no one mounting a charge on him as of yet. Creepy Romantic will hold the rail while running in the second spot and will have no excuses in the stretch. It’s a length to Electric, who continues to run three wide with Aggravated Jung and Super Powers to his inside and neither making a push. Mighty enters the stretch behind them and will look for a lane to come through the field.

(Finish- 1:08.63)- With a furlong to go, Maxmillion Farm was in a good spot and hoped that this duo could take home the 1-2 finish. Creepy Romantic was reeling in Chilled Niagra, but that’s just fine for the trainer. From the back, there was only one horse that looked like a threat, and he’d be a mighty big one, since he is known for this type of run. Mighty had room to the outside of Aggravated Jung and was looking to take his best shot at the Maxmillion runners. Closing in on the wire, Creepy Romantic made the pass for the lead and would look to hang on over Mighty, and even Electric, who was trying to stay in the picture. In the end, Creepy Romantic gets the win by a neck over Mighty, who spoils the 1-2 Maxmillion Farm finish. Chilled Niagra will settle for third, hanging on over Electric. Aggravated Jung and Super Powers round it out.

About The Winner- Creepy Romantic, trained by Maxmillion Farm and ridden to victory by L J Luzzi, is a five-year-old gelding by Creepy Rene and is out of the late Romantics. He was bred in New York as a first quarter two-year-old by Arkansas Elite and was acquired by Maxmillion Farm for $150.00 from Broken Spoke Stable in an April 2024 private sale. Congratulations to the connections! The win is his eighth in 24 starts, his fourth stake win and third graded win. His career earnings are now $1,280.83.
