It’s another weekend of exciting KYD prep action, as on Saturday, the 50-point Fountain Of Youth takes place at GP. This is the 21st time the race has been run within the game, and the $400.000 purse has been consistent since 2011, other than a cut that was made in 2021.

Creepy Romantic Holds Off Longshots in The Gander
NY breds a chance to shine on Sunday, as the ninth running of the Gander took place. There was not much of a surprise with the winner of the race, as post time favorite and our pick, Creepy Romantic took care of business and won by a length.

Jurassic Park Comes to Life in The Rebel
With its large purse and 50 KYD points at stake, there was plenty of reason to be excited about the Rebel on Saturday. The weather would cooperate, leaving the track fast and setting the stage for a great race. Some of these horses have been talked about a lot more than others, and one that we have not heard mentioned much as of yet was Smokey Stover’s Jurassic Park.

Full Field Of NY-Breds for The Gander
The gate will be full at the Big A on Sunday for the ninth running of The Gander, showing the strength of breeding in New York within our virtual world. The conditions are certainly appealing, as it is for three year olds at a mile on the main track, and it could send a few that run well into top KYD preps for their next start.

Massive Purse at Stake in The Rebel
There is plenty of reason to be excited about Saturday’s running of the Grade 2 Rebel from OP. It offers fifty points for its winner in the TC standings, but also features one of the largest purses that you will see on the road to the KYD to the tune of $1,250.000.

Walk Em Down Makes an Impression in Risen Star
The Risen Star Stakes is the first 50-point KYD prep race on the schedule, but that didn’t stop Mother Nature from wanting to have her say on things. A steady rain all day at FG made the track muddy/soft. There were twelve horses scheduled to go in the Risen Star, but three of them would scratch out.

South China Sea Stays Hot and Wins Mineshaft Stakes
With the rain that fell at FG on Saturday, we would end up having our original field of eleven be cut to nine but that would not be something that would get in the way of South China Sea. This gelding by Sun Tzu was riding a three race winning streak heading into the race and handled the mud well to make that four.

Chai Danger Wins at FG Again, Capturing FG Stakes
Despite having a lot of success here at FG, the betting public did not give much of a chance to Chai Danger, sending the three-time LCD Turf winner off at odds of 24/1. The seven year old gelding had never actually won a graded stake, and with more well known names taking part, Chai Danger was a longshot.

FG Stakes Looks Competitive
As a part of the big day at FG, we will have a race that is simply named after the track, the Grade 3 FG Stakes, which is a nine furlong race for older horses on the turf. It first appeared on the schedule in 2005, and has been run every year since other than 2006.

Demon Looks to Stay Hot in Mineshaft Stakes
The highlight of Saturday’s card at FG may be the Risen Star Stakes, but older horses are going to get a chance to run for a nice purse as well as the nineteenth running of the Mineshaft Stakes takes place. This race began modestly in 2005 with a $100.000 purse, and has seen the likes of Icicle, Shootfromthehip, and Class Edge earn the victory.
