  • New Name, Same Thrills in The Kings Plate

In December 2022, track officials announced that the race formerly known as the Queens Plate would be renamed to the King’s Plate due to the rise of King Charles III. Thus, we get the name change here in our virtual world as well, but no matter what the race is referred to as, we can count on it being a thrilling race.

  • DMR Oaks Looks Real Competitive

The highlight of the day at DMR on Saturday will be the 20th running of the DMR Oaks, which provides three year old fillies great opportunity to further their careers as the BC draws closer. It’s a nine furlong race on the grass, and has been a Grade 1 ever since it first appeared on our schedule.

  • The Iselin Stakes Is Definitely Up for Grabs

This Saturday at MTH, a field of six will be heading to the starting gate for the 18th running of the Iselin Stakes. This is a Grade 3 that sends three year olds, or older, a little over a mile on the main track. When the race first appeared on the schedule, it had a slightly longer distance, going a full nine furlongs and was also run for $250.000.

  • Fayette County Remains Perfect in Best Pal Stakes

The Grade 3 Best Pal Stakes took place at DMR on Sunday, and like many other two year old races, it figured to be unpredictable. Horses are still young and unproven, and you never know when someone will bust out with a big race at any time.

  • An Upset Victory for Stinky Rene in Beverly D

Virtual racing can be very unpredictable, can’t it? Coming into the Beverly D, there would have been no reason to make Stinky Rene you’re pick to win. She would go off as a 26/1 longshot and was not picked much in the pick ’em. Most that did probably just did so because of her 50/1 morning line odds.

  • Absolutely Grande Lives Up to His Name in The Fourstardave Handicap

It was a wet day at Saratoga, as storms moved through the virtual northeast, leaving the track sloppy and soft for the day’s action. That would mean that the Fourstardave Handicap would be decided on soft going, news that was good for some and not so for others.

  • Twelve Go for Gold in Best Pal Stakes

On Sunday, we will get a chance to learn the more of the names of promising two year olds as the 20th running of the Best Pal Stakes takes place. It is held at DMR, and features a mixture of juvenile horses that may have already had a big result in a stake race and those that are making their debut at this level.

  • Beverly D Heads to CNL This Year and Draws La Terrifiant

The great La Terrifiant returns to action this weekend as HRP racing makes a rare trip to CNL for the 19th running of the Grade 1 Beverly D. This race has been more well known for taking place at AP, where it ran from 2005 until 2021. It would find a one year home at CD before the move to CNL for 2023.

  • Deep But Tricky Field in The Fourstardave Handicap

Named for one of the biggest legends of all time at SAR, the Fourstardave Handicap provides an automatic spot into the BC Mile in just three months. The race first appeared on the schedule in 2003 as a Grade 2, and was won by one of our own legends, the great Alpha Ultimo.

  • Lets Celebrate Does It Again, This Time in The Whitney

When the year began, Lets Celebrate was running in a $12.500 claimer at TAM. Now, he is the favorite to win the BC Classic after picking up his second straight victory in an automatic qualifier for that race. Last month, he was down at CD and won the Grade 1 Foster, and now he did it again, coming from off the pace as he so likes to do, to win the Grade 1 Whitney.
