  • Telladifferentstory Narrowly Defeats Big Aspirations in The Smith

Ten horses would go to the starting gate for the Smith, an eleven furlong Grade 2 at AQU, but it would end up being a two horse race at the wire as both Telladifferentstory and Big Aspirations broke away from the rest of the field in the stretch and settled things between themselves.

  • Hard Discretion Wins Third in a Row After Native Diver Stakes

Hard Discretion came into the Native Diver Stakes on a two race winning streak, with a pair of victories in optional claimers. Both of those results, especially the most recent one, showed that he deserved a shot to run at the stake level.

  • My Trusty Cat Gets a Trusty Dead Heat

Last night, a field of six up and coming fillies took part in the My Trusty Cat, hoping to get a win that could help propel them to running in bigger and better races. When they hit the wire, we would have two horses getting the win as yet another stake race ends up in a dead heat.

  • Diving into Native Diver Stakes

For the 18th time, the Native Diver will be taking place, and it has been run at DMR every year since 2014. During its tenure at DMR, we have already seen two dead heats for a win, so we’ll be hoping not to see a third this year.

  • Ten Have Big Aspirations in The Smith

This Saturday at the Big A, a field of ten turf horses that like to keep running and running will go to post for the 17th running of The Smith. This is a Grade 2 event that sees its purse restored to the 2019 level, of $200.000, after being cut in half last year. Its classification also returned to Grade 2 status after being a Grade 3 from 2013-2020.

  • Chopstick Should Be One to Beat in My Trusty Cat

This Friday at DED, we will have the third running of the My Trusty Cat, which is for two year old fillies on the main track. This race first appeared on the schedule in 2014, but would not be run a second time until last year. In 2021, the distance of the race has been changed to a mile, as it had been a seven furlong race in the previous two editions.

  • Strong Late Run Gives East Of Creep A Hope Stakes Win

In the Grade 3 Hope Stakes, our field was predominantly filled with up and comers, making the race seemingly up for grabs. It would be a great chance for a horse to make a great impression, and the one doing that in this race would be East Of Creep, for Barcelona Farms. This is a horse that debuted, like many others, in April of this year, but did not hit the track again until August.

  • Hang Around Comfortably Wins The Autumn Stakes

The post-time favorite for the Autumn Stakes would not disappoint, as the shot, Hang Around, pulled off a two length win over his four rivals. This well bred horse by Wreaking Havoc came into the race off a win in the Durham Cup, a very similar race that was run here a month ago and those who remembered that were eager to show their support to the gelding once again.

  • Five Go to Post for Autumn Stakes

Five veteran racehorses will go to post this Sunday for the 15th running of the Autumn Stakes, north of the border at WO. You’ll find higher purses out there for races with a Grade 2 classification, but it is an amount that has been mostly consistently throughout the history of the event.

  • Who Will Howl in Hope Stakes?

Last year, while many were still thinking about the top horses to have raced in the BC Juvenile, a horse by the name of Howl Of The Hound was running here, and winning the Hope Stakes for his first graded win.
