This four year old found his groove today making all for a game half length win. Last time out in the Elusive Quality he set a slower pace but couldn’t keep it up but today he just kept trucking all the way to the line. A real consistent sort he upped his game today and he looks the type that will always be competitive in these types of races.

2nd        Invercargill          Gdp Inc            Wilson E J

With odds at over 1001 you could be forgiven for overlooking this one. Having only his third race on turf and never having placed before he ran much more like his dirt self today stalking the leader and taking ground right to the line. This was a solid performance from another consistent type but looking at his for i am still confused as to what is his best trip or surface.

3rd       Butter Ball          Angelos Stable        Contreras L

Flew home from way back to grab third his were the fastest closing sectionals. A six year old who seems pretty evergreen there looks to be another good season ahead of him.

4th      Blameitonthewhisky      Fractious       Kimura K

Flew home matching Butter Ball this was the first time for a while that he has closed rather than stalked. It would be interesting to know if that was an instruction or just te result of a poor start but either way this was a pretty good effort for a horse that hasn’t raced in this grade for a while.
