Welcome back to Lexington Kentucky where the GI BC Juvenile Turf took place. We had a field of fourteen show up for this with a purse of $1,000.000 on the line. Lets now take a look on how this one unfolded.

The winner of this years race was Icicle Dawn. Going off at odds of 15/1 and third in his last start in the Zuma Beach Stakes at Santa Anita owner Barcelona Farms was looking to win this race again just like the owner did in 2009 & 2011. Away second at the sound of the bell and trailing leader Fear The Feathers by a neck, as he bought his time heading into the stretch run bounced to the lead with Emma Jane Wilson aboard and the two were able to keep the others behind them to win by a clear length. The winning time went in 1:33.19 for the mile and winning this race for owner / breeder Barcelona Farms for the third time. The owner picks up top prize of $600.000.

2) Walkin On Ice ~ 9/1 and nosed out in the GII Summer Stakes was looking for a trip to the winners circle after being denied in that last one. One of two entries for owner Blushing Meadows was away sixth at the break and three lengths back, as he turned the corner Javier Castellano went to work on him and tried reeling in Icicle Dawn, but that was not the case today as he went under the line to finish a length back. He went out for Blushing Meadows as the owner picks up $240.000.

3) Vim ~ the second entry for owner Blushing Meadows was the winner of the GIII Pilgrim in his last one and was looking for another score. Going off at odds of 6/1 and seventh at the break and four lengths from the lead, as Elvis Trujillo went to the stick the two began to run at the top two but was not able to get there in time as he settled for third today. Owner Blushing Meadows takes second and third with the two entries as this one picks up $120.000.

4) Lure ~ 34/1 and came into this one off of two straight victories was hoping to keep things going for owner / breeder D J C Racing Stables. Off to a rough start breaking from post eleven and breaking twelve and seven lengths behind, as he sat a t the back of the pack heading into the straightaway Gerry Olguin went to work and the youngster made a run at the others and made up ground but not enough to get him into the top three as he finished fourth by two. He picks up $40.000 for the run.

5) Gotta Own The Light ~ *6/1 and the post time favorite for this one was a winner in three of his last four and the public made him the choice for this one. Away fifth at the sound of the bell and three lengths from the leader, as he turned the corner just two lengths back Mike Smith tried getting more from him but he moved back up a spot finishing fifth. He went out for owner / breeder Second Chance Farms.

6) Arrowhead ~ 6/1 and the winner of the GII Summer Stakes were looking to win another here in this one. Away eleventh when the doors flung open and seven lengths from the leader, as he hit the top of the stretch still sitting twelfth Rafael Bejarano went to work and the youngster closed the gap but finished sixth in this one for owner Spongebob.

7) Laffin Attack ~ 8/1 and the winner of two in a row including the GII With Anticipation were hoping to make it three. Away tenth at the break and seven lengths back, as he headed into the stretch Robbie Albarado went to work but the two picked up a few spots to run seventh for owner / breeder Red Square Stables.

7) Malibu Run ~ 11/1 and winning four in a row as he took the GIII Pilgrim in his last one was looking to cash in here in the BC. The second entry for owner Barcelona Farms was last of the fourteenth at the sound of the bell, as he came into the stretch he made up some ground but ended in a Dead Heat with Laffin Attack. He went out for owner for owner / breeder Barcelona Farms.

9) Still In Check ~ 21/1 finished second in his last one in the GIII Bourbon was looking to work his way back to the winners circle. Away ninth at the break and five lengths back, he came into the stretch Julian Leparoux tried getting him going but he just picked up a few spots to finish ninth. He went out for owner / breeder Mb Stables.

10) A Little Influence ~ 23/1 and sixth in his last one in the GIII Pilgrim drew post one for this. Getting out and running eighth at the break, As he hit the stretch Gary Stevens put the stick away as he backed up to finish tenth. He went out for owner / breeder The Sidley Stud.

11) Yummy Opus ~ 11/1 the winner of the Zuma Beach at Santa Anita in his last one was looking to build off of that last one. Out and away third at the break and two lengths back, as Jose Ortiz asked for more he packed it in finishing eleventh today. He went out for owner / breeder Drabfantasy.

12) Fear The Feather ~ 6/1 the GIII Bourbon winner was looking to make it another score here in this one. Hustled away to get the early lead under Joe Talamo, as he hit the top of the lane he was overwhelmed by the others coming at him and finished twelve. He went out for owner Our Athletes.

13) Leggo The AK ~ 40/1 and the first of two entries for owner Aer Stables was making his first start for the owner. Away thirteenth at the break and seven lengths back, as he turned the corner Paco Lopez looked to get him going but he did not respond today to finish thirteenth.

14) Asklepius ~ 12/1 and the second entry for owner Aer Stables was third in the GIII Bourbon in his last one. Away fourth at the break with Irad Ortiz aboard, as the two came into the lane they kept backing up and finished fourteenth.
