As we get closer and closer to Championship Weekend, I’ll be doing a series of updates on the BC races that I’ve been assigned.  For this update, we have the G1 BC Distaff.  First we’ll look at the leaderboard; horses that have automatically qualified through the “Win and You’re In” program will be given the first spots and then the rest of the field will be placed in the remaining slots via their points total.

Where We Stand: This looks to be an “arms race” between Mb Stables (3 entries), Night Rider Stables (3 entries), Smokey Stover (2 entries), and Arindel (2 entries).  For those that are mathematically challenged, that only leaves four spots for the rest of the trainers at HRP.  Looking at the first four out, Mag Ol and Wbf No Regrets will race this weekend; however, Feral Impact and Shes A Super Freak appear to be finished accumulating points. 

Races To Watch: Sunday’s G1 Spinster from KEE is an automatic qualifier so that will be the headliner and that is where Mag Ol and Wbf No Regrets will attempt to race their way to DMR.  Of the 12-horses entered, only Drink Me Pretty and Laffy Crack are currently in the main body of the field.  Also on Sunday, the G2 Beldame has Z Command and Miss Steel Mazula as the headliners, but there are five other entries looking to improve their BC chances.  Rounding-out the Sunday action is the G3 ON Matron, but Zombie Storm is the only horse in the field that is currently in the top 50 on the leaderboard and she can only improve her point total to 10.
