Three Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares
This years Breeders Cup Fillies and Mares Sprint is loaded up with fourteen runners in the body of the race and three runners on the also eligible list who are hoping they draw in. All the fillies and mares in this race are tough and pretty much they all have a chance to win. Let’s take a look at the field.
1. Where To Find Me (13-7-1-0 $718.740), trained by Mb Stables
This filly is back for another shot at this race after running fourth in last years edition of the race. She has been running good this year with three wins in a row including two grades stakes races. She likes to come from way back and she will need a fast pace but she will definitely have a big chance.
2. Temple Of The Brave (21-8-2-2 $975.680), trained by Crocker Ggs
Now this filly Gere only knows one thing and that is to go to the front and try to hang on for as long as she can. She hangs on for the win every once in a while but usually she doesn’t. But if this is her time to hold on she will be on the lead for sure. She will need to run the race of her life to win.
3. Dashboard Rahy (32-14-7-3 $1,429.540), trained by John Henry
Right here is a mare who likes to win races but in her last out she ran terrible. She ran tenth but I do think that the mud was the main cause for that bad performance. She did win the race before that and if she runs like that she has a chance. She needs to run a huge race to win for sure.
4. Gottahotone (26-9-8-2 $911.820), trained by D J C Racing Stables
This mare here is going to be coming off of a lengthy layoff to run in this big tough race. She ran third in this race last year and almost won and ran one of the biggest races of her life. If she runs a big race like she did last year she could win but she is going to have to run a huge race to win.
5. You Are My Sunshine (23-8-5-5 $441.940), trained by Stone Creek Farm
This filly is going to be making another crack to win this race. She ran thirteenth in this race last year and that was not a good race at all. If she runs like she did last year she will not have much of a chance but if she runs a big race though maybe it will be a lot different race than last year or even better.
6. Covert Operation (8-3-2-1 $373.580), trained by Team 7 Illusions
Here is a three year old in the field and she is a graded stakes winner this year. She has won two graded stakes races this year and they were at Belmont and Saratoga. She likes to run from behind most of the time so a fast pace up front will help her out a lot. She has a chance with a pace meltdown for sure.
7. Toleration (20-9-3-3 $1,300.130), trained by Mb Stables
Well there was a possibility that this filly might be able to go into the Distaff because of her win in the grade one Apple Blossom earlier this year but she opted to go in this race instead. She is coming off an allowance win at Belmont last out and she is a good filly for sure. I think she has a good chance to win.
8. Cocoa Nut (8-4-0-1 $304.250), trained by Team 7 Illusions
Now this filly here is coming off of a win in the grade two Raven Run at Keeneland last out on an off track where she won by a quarter length in a dead heat. She has faced some of the toughest horses in this division before but not so many like this race. She will need to run the race of her career to win.
9. Capella Rising (17-6-5-3 $239.730), trained by Stone Creek Farm
Another filly who has been trying some of the graded stakes races at this level but she hasn’t been able to get the win in any of those races. She has been knocking on the door every time though and she will eventually get a win in one of those races. She will need to run a giant race to win here though.
10. Phun Stick (21-5-5-5 $385.800), trained by Axeman
Also a filly right here who has been knocking on the door in her recent races and not being able to push through and win. She is sort of versatile so she can pretty much end up anywhere. Wherever she ends up in the early parts will determine where she ends up finishing up most likely.
11. Symphonic (9-2-4-0 $252.980), trained by Team 7 Illusions
It’s the same story for a lot of these runners because she has been knocking on the door also in just about every race she has ran in. She ran second by a head in the grade one Test and ran second in the Presque Isle Downs Masters last out also. She has a decent chance to win if she runs a big race.
12. Diplomatic Chaos (10-6-0-0 $328.880), trained by Winning Link Stables
Now this filly has something over a these rivals because she has already won over this course and distance earlier this year in the grade two Eight Belles. She won nicely that day and is she repeat that race she has a decent chance but she hasn’t ran that good at all in her recent races lately.
13. Coldpack (13-6-1-0 $1004.400), trained by John Henry
This filly is on a roll also winning three of her last four which include three grades stakes and two grade ones which here the Acorn and Ballerina this summer. She won the Charles Town Oaks last out by a nose as a little prep for this race. She looks tough is she can overcome the outside post.
14. Are We Dreamin (11-5-3-1 $526.970), trained by Mb Stables
The final entry from Mb Stables and this filly is running very good recently. She has ran top three in five stakes races in a row and has won three of those races actually. She is coming into this race with good form and if she runs like she has been she will have a good chance to win if she overcomes the post.
15. Hipposin (11-4-3-1 $240.650), trained by Our Athletes

16. Enchante (13-7-2-0 $253.400), trained by Hambletonian Stable

Summary
Now another very deep field just like every one of these Breeders Cup races this weekend. There is a lot of very good fillies and mares in here and this is definitely going to be a very good race. My top selection is going to be Coldpack. She will have to overcome the outside post though. Good luck to all in the race.
